Kentsoundz Could Probably Think of a Better Name

Through the magical mystery of networking, I ran into Kentsoundz. Based out of Miami, Kent makes awesome backbeats lined with synthesized melodies. Electronic, folk, breakbeat, ambient, even hip hop ...these are all qualities of Kentsoundz. He's signed on to Madeira Projects Records and creates an amazing blend of remixed samples along with backdrops that make you wanna listen. Plus Kent looked cool for Halloween. Jigga Jigga whaaa?!!!!! www.myspace.com/kentsoundz

Graceful Dribblety Blobblety Goo

While living in South Beach, this is one artist that reeled me into ritual walkings to the Art Center of South Florida. Vickie Peirre creates organically flowing prints as simply as possible. Seemingly repetetive, all shapes are derived from drips, bubbles, shells, and folds. But when placed within mood shifting color palettes, the abstract composition gains a sense of style that only Vickie can create. Although her designs look great as thumbnails, imagine one of these prints encompassing an entire room. Tedious, and time taking, it sometimes seems that she's searching for a space large enough to scoff,"Forget it". To learn about Vicki via the Art Center of South Florida copy and paste http://www.artcentersf.org/artists/resident/810/pierre_v/index.htm into your browser. But next time you're in Miami Beach, taking a stroll down Lincoln Road, stop into the Art Center and see the many images that get lost through photography. And if you're a Dade county local, take advantage of the situation and see amazing art for free until 11:00 PM daily. The Art Center also offers a wide array of classes- from silkscreen printing to life drawing, the instructors are the resident artists and the curriculum combined with the price is unbeatable.

House of Diehl Make War

Anyone that can earn the review,"The best design team since...Jesus Christ" has caught my attention. Enter House of Diehl, the creative marriage of MJ Diehl and Roman Milisic. Together they produce fashions that are both innovative and elegant. Dresses are precisely draped making the numerous folds and structural elements conform to the body in a flattering way. But the House of Diehl line is only a small percentage of what Diehl and Milisic actually do. For the past few years now they have been pioneering a movement they call 'Style Wars'. The most recent challenge was to make a garment out of household products. Wars from the past include constructing a garment from woven measuring tapes that is fully adjustable making it 'one size fits all'. Beginning as an onling challenge, HoD took it a step further and went on the road to all major U.S. cities. To enlist in a Style War or to see slideshows from all participating cities in the household product War, copy and paste http://www.moli.com/p/views/v2b9qhposlFy6rOLOJPmsYGg../ into your browser. And beyond signature fashion and interactive challenges, HoD also pride themselves on installations and projects on a grand scale. In the event entitled 'So Impressed', HoD attempted to wash away some of the sterility of typical encaptured moments by embracing every movement in an impression. Various rubber stamps were adhered to shoe soles and then placed on the feet of many dancers who performed on a fabric runway. At shows end, HoD constructed t-shirts from the runway. www.houseofdiehl.com "THE DRESS IS FINE, IT'S THE PARTY THAT MAKES YOU LOOK FAT."-MJ Milisic

Trash Fashion: A New Level of Obnoxirock

A curious blend of Thrill Kill-esque synth and samplings with an extreme dose of cheesy british vocals. Their latest single 'Mom and Daddy' may make you cringe at first, but unknowingly grows on you as you start reciting the "shake your body" verse on loop. Fashionably, they can get a little mod, but add a certain Punky Brewster element that retains some respect. www.trashfashion.com www.myspace.com/trashfashion

The Fashion, Sounds, and Art of Satoshi Date

Tokyo native and London transplant Satoshi Date is the song and dance man of creativity. Vibrant oil paintings, sculpturous apparel adaptations, and even simple scarves fashioned from his grandmother's vintage fabric. Oh yeah, and he creates some pretty awesome experimental ambient tracks. Favorites: Tumbling Self and Fetishism. www.satoshidate.com, www.myspace.com/satoshidate
